smashed something off roading please help

Default smashed something off roading please help

hey guys i just went off roading and smashed a ditch it was like 2 1/2 feet deep and now when the shifter is in the netral position the truk is in reverse and when the indercater is in drive the truck is in neutral and to be in drive the indercater is in the 2 position so i really have no clue whats going on or whats wrong i would apreciate the help thank you!!

your transmission pan has been caved, screwing your tranny and linkage up.
i've seen it before,. mainly its because someone hits something hard (like a rock, tree, etc) and it pushes the pan up into the transmission causing the various problems you describe.

im surprised you can get it into park.

If not that check your transmission linkage running next to the left frame rail.

Shifter is adjustable ... but you probably just bent the linkage.

I agree, sounds like the linkage.

it's always a good idea to scope out where you're about to go on foot before you go cruising through, when you're offroading. and Try to stay on the outsides of big ditches and ruts. I mean I see some of the guys on here drive right through the **** but they have some nifty looking after market suspension set ups too (you might be interested) I think I'm going to look into it before long.

hey guys thanks i looked at it it is the linkage and we were just there the night before and it was fine. i guess i didnt factor in the pooring rain but thanks for the imput
