Default Cold Air Intake

So I'm thinking about getting a cold air intake for my ram. Shopping around and wondering if there's anything to consider when buying one. Any particular brand to stay away from? I see a lot of them on ebay for around $50 shipped......sounds pretty reasonable. Have heard though to get one with a filter thats not oiled.....in other words, a dry filter otherwise it could harm the engine. Is this true? Thanks guys.

K&N is the best, Air raid makes a good one, I have seen the ones they sell on ebay and they look alright. Don't have any knowledge if they are any good. One thing to remember is doing a cold air intake and not an exhaust kind of defeats the purpose. If you bring more air in and it has no place to goyou'll drasticaly suffer in fuel economy. My K&N is oiled and they recomened reoiling after a cleaning and I cannot see any evidence of engine harm the oil is what traps the finner polutents that we want to keep out.

Look for a thread called "K&N FIPK no more"
Great looking intake, just got mine from summit, and it's a lot cheaper.

I run the Edelbrock open element filter. I like it.

All my trucks have K&N cold air intakes. I also think they are the best.

I think JC Whiteney has the AEM Brute Force setup for 202. Thats where I got mine. It flows great, never needs oiled, and shines everytime you open the hood

Im running AEM's BRUTE FORCE on mine.. I love it. No oil for the filter, and all you have to do to clean it is run it through some warm water and clean everything out of it.. the filter can be re-used quite a few times before its replaced.

idk why everyone doesnt get an open element filter. They are like 1/4 cost of k&n and imo outflow and sound better than them too. The Hemi and SRT 10 are a diffrent story though.
