Default test pipe or gut cat?

Is there a co that makes a cheap test pipe or is gutting the cat the best option?

Any other exhaust mods or just the cat gutted? Better gas mileage with that mod?

WEll I can tell from past experience at that many miles it's surely beyond perfect.. usually some of the inner core has started to melt. All you need it a smallpipe or rodand a BFH. There are tests with temp etc// but, I would just do it at that mileage. Thats my plan unless someone already make a cheap test pipe???Still waiting to hear.

Will that affect performance with the 02 sensors or will it still be fine? Is it quiet a bit louder now?

It will be louder. According to my wife, it's very loud. You cut the pipe at the back end of the cat and use the rod and hammer to break up the platinum catalyst inside. You can periodically start the truck to clean out what you have broken up. After all of the material is removed slip a coupling on the pipe and secure it with u-clamps.
Some people get no codes, some get a constant code, and some get periodic codes.

If it throws codes then the Check Engine Light will come on won't it? I prolly won't do this since I just replaced the 02 sensors or will this not affect anything? Before it would idle rough so I changed them out. I've already got a magnaflow exhaust that is about medium on the loudness scale I'd say but I want it louder. This won't make it sound like crap will it?

If it throws a code the ce light will come on. Personally, I don't care for the way it sounds at idle, but it doesn't sound too bad going down the road. At idle it almost sounds like a resonator or something and the exhaust pulses are not steady. Ihave a fair bit of lope from the cam I'm running, but, at idle, it just sounded better before.I just have mine gutted right now because I am waiting on long tubes to get here. I wasn't going to pay to have the cat fixed only to turn around and yank it in a couple of weeks. Unless you are moving alot of air, i.e. m1/cam/ heads, I wouldn't mess with it.
