Default How To Determine Which Tranny I have?

I have two Ram's: 1994 1/2T SLT 4x4 which is the wife's, and my 2001 3/4T quad 4x4 shortbed. I have wired-brushed the crap off the side of the tranny just above the pan, and all I see are serial numbers. So how do I determine which model transmission is in each rig so I can R&R the trans filtr and oil, and make adjustments to the bands?

Thanks.

If there's a stick coming through the floor with numbers on the top of it you have a manual. Or if you have three pedals. If there is 2 pedals and no stick you have an automatic. That is how you determine what kinda transmission you have. Haha I'm just messin around.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the replies.
I think I will copy the VIN numbers and tranny serial numbers and call a dealership to double-check.
