Had a similar problem once but on a Chevy Blazer. The problem was the brake booster. Unfortunately the only understanding I have is that is supplies the brakes with fluid like a pump I believe but I am not 100% sure on that. A friend told me that.

So is your master cylinder still full or is it empty? Also when you say no fluid leaks, have you checked all 4 wheels to make sure there is no evidence of a blown cylinder seal (either wheel cylinder on the rear or caliper piston seal on the front)? If all that checks out good, then I would check the proportioning valve and then the master cylinder. You can easily blow a seal in the MC and have the pedal go to the floor, but I am not sure how that affects the ABS system/light.

DodgeMedic:
A brake booster doesn't provide fluid for the brakes, it provides additional force to the piston in the MC eliminating the need to "stand" on the brake pedal as in older vehicles with no power brakes. Vacuum boosters (big round canister between the MC and firewall) do this using engine vacuum to assist in reducing braking effort and the hydroboost (has lines coming from power steering pump to MC) uses the hydrulic pressure created by the PS pump to provide the assitance to the MC which is still a seperate unit, but to someone who doesn't know any different, it all looks like 1 unit. Does that clear things up?
