1996 RAM Troubleshoot
Hi y'all....
I was wondering if ny of you have an idea of what this may be:
1996 RAM 1500 with all original parts, done 118k miles, Auto tranny
Under load (i.e. under throttle) everything sounds fine; when I let of the gas there is a scraping sound...related to RPMs...as soon as I rev, the noise is gone...
Any ideas of what this can be ....?
Thanks!
Chanz

Hi...
the sound is coming from somewhere below the chassis...I cant really trace it......it sounds similar to brakes that have not released propperly...its not the brakes though.
The scraping is there at idle rpms....regardless of motion or speed of the truck...as soon as I get off the gas and drop below about 1300 rpm it starts....it stops as soon as i hit the pedal....
Hope this helped a bit....I will get it checked...I was just wondering if there are any commonly knows issues like this...
Any suggestions appreciated!
Thanks!
