I have an oil pan with a slow leak and need help from anyone that has done this before. Will the oil pan clear the cross-member on the front side of the engine bay without having to unbolt the engine mounts and hoist the engine up a couple of inches? It looks like a tight fit, but I would apprecitate any info from those of you that have done this before.

i know on a 2wd there isnt any issues at all...not sure on the 4x4's..... 1 thing i would suggest while you have the pan off is to replace the oil pump with a high volume melling pump...just a thought....

 

Thanks for the info, 4x4 shouldn't matter, the axle is several inches below the cross-member.

 

oil pan came out of my 01 easy w/o raising the engine. there's a tech article on pavement sucks for this, and it says you have to remove the dust cover covering the flex plate, and to do that you have to remove the starter. see if you can get the oil pan off w/o doing that. i didn't even try, but then getting the starter off was a pita.
