Whats the catch?
Hey Guys! This is my first time posting in the Ram section, but I am a regular in the 2nd Gen Dakotas. This ones kinda long...
I was doing some searching around dealers in my area to see if I could find a Ram cheap enough that I could trade-in my Dakota. I found a 95 1500 4x4 5.9 with 112,000 on it for just under $6000. Whats the catch? It has duels and it looks like a suspension lift. I will look more closely when i go look at it later today. Any things I should check before I even consider trading?

I want to trade in my 99 Dakota Sport 4x4 5sp V6 with a suspension lift and torsion bars cranked for about 5 inches. Its got a flowmaster 40 and new cat, new rear brakes, new waterpump, recent full tune up, manifold gasket replaced. Last time I tried to trade it in for something 6000 they said they would throw me a couple hundred bucks on top of it. Is this a good deal if they will let me trade straight up?
Also what should i expect for gas mileage with a 5.9? I have heard very mixed answers.

That price is about right actually, so i doubt there's a catch just make sure the fluids all look good, tranny shifts right, blah blah blah. My gas mileageranges from about13-15 on the highway @75-80mph, 12 in the city. If i drive 65 mph i can get 17.
yeah that is a normal price and i would personally reccomend trading in to get the big boy toy! lol once you have a ram you will never want anything else!! but yeah just check the basics to make sure everythingwas maintained
use kbb.com to check value on both trucks. use private party sale, not retail. retail represents asking price, private party is what its really worth. its also all you'll get out of insurance company if it was to get totaled. they say the ram is only worth 5500.
