Exactly. Don't ever look at a vehicle when you are in a hurry either. I made a flyin trip to look at a truck for my son a couple years ago, got to dealer 85 miles away 15 minutes before closing time, drove it quickly and just glanced over it (it was raining too) and ended up buying it cause it looked good on first impression and I was keeping the dealership people from going home on Friday night. BIG MISTAKE! I took a bath on that one.....Paid premium price due to extremly low miles on it, then spent like $2500 fixing oil leaks that wouldn't go away, suspension bushings, you name it. AND - it got like 9 mpg. Not good for a kid in school. I sold that p.o.s. this spring and got him a Stratus.......
I'd say you made a correct decision - especially considering how far away the vehicle was. If it was near home you could have checked it out better. Maybe it was just the gauge or something easy.....BUT maybe it was a MONEY PIT like I screwed up and bought........

If your questioning it NOW, even after it's fixed, you'll ALWAYS question it.

Walkin away = piece of mind
