ANYONE RUNNING OTHER THAN HARLAND SHARP PEDESTAL MOUNTS?
I run HD Harland Sharp 1.6's on a .640 lift cam with 650 lb spring pressures and MRL solid roller lifters and a Jomar Stud Girdle. At these spring pressures and 6800 RPM I've only broken one rocker stud, and the Harland Sharp rockers are some of the best out there. Unless you're running more spring than I am, stick with the rocker studs, spend you coin else where.

If you're spending over 120.00 for Hyd. roller lifters, you're spending too much.

Talk to Richard at Hipotek, he REALLY knows a 5.9 Magnum and will set you straight...I've bought a lot of parts from him.

I have the Scorpion Roller Rockers but haven't had my engine running yet. A little secret about the roller rockers for our engines. You can use SBC roller rockers. That is what I did. I had to buy a stud and guide kit but I was able to get the rockers I wanted. Do you know about the Mopar roller rocker kit they sell? P5007404 - Mopar Performance Magnum Roller Rocker Arms it comes with the rockers, studs, guide plates, push rods & are adjustable. They are 1.7 ratio instead of 1.6 also.

On a side note I have a Comp Cam 20-602-9 http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...?csid=663&sb=2
It is brand new and was only installed into the engine and then removed. I am going with a different cam. I'd take $275 shipped in the lower 48 for it.

So is the H.D. rockers from H.S. differant from their pedestal mount units with the 5/16" screw?
The rockers i bought from Richard @ Hi-potek were $199 but are supposed to have tighter internal tolerances resulting in less bleed down and acting more like a solid lifter.

Hey wild man,
did you have to buy the rocker studs with a 5/16"-18 thread on the head side and 3/8"-16 on the other?
Where did you buy all the parts at and what did it cost you for studs, rockers, guide plates and nuts?

So is there a P/N for a complete Crane Cams kit for E.Q. iron heads?

I am looking for a kit with the 5/16"-18 stud that threads into head and 3/8" thread on the rocker side with the guide plates and nuts.

The set I have linked above is exactly what you are looking for, with all the parts included. Also has the advantage of being individually adjustable. Granted, it isn't cheap, but, picking up all the parts separately probably won't be either.

I do believe you need to modify the valve covers, (remove some of the interior baffles) and the heads will likely need to be machined for the screw in studs.

No I had my EQ heads drilled out to 3/8 so that I could run studs. I didn't keep track of how much I spent. The Mopar kit the HeyYou and I are talking about might seem high priced but as said if you shop for all the parts individually it will probably cost more than the kit from Mopar.

Part of the reason I went with buying all my own parts was because I wanted to run two different ratio's with my rockers.
