What differences does a Sport model have?
I didn't really think anything except for the painted bumpers and grille, maybe a couple more horsepower. I'm sure one of theexperts will be able to tell you though.
The Sport model came about in 1995, I believe. The defferences from a regular Ram were a body color painted grille and bumpers. Also, the Sports were generally well optioned, and you had to get a V8 with the Sport package- no base model V6. In 1999, the Sports gained a few more differences. The headlights were chainged to the dualbulb setup- one bulb for low beams, one for high beams, in each lens. Also, some of the decals were different for the Sport models. The "Dodge" and "4x4" decals were more 3-d looking on the tailgate. The front bumper is also different than a regular Ram. It has a lower valance, which means it sits a little closer to the ground. Also, the top part of the bumper is different, resulating in a slightly different grille. If your Sport model is a '99 or newer, you will need to find a different bull bar. If it is a '95 to '98, the bumpers are the same thing, just painted on the Sports instead of chrome. Hope this helps.
