Stealership or Dealership?????
I took my truck in today to have the transmission serviced at the dealer today and they did a good job! Shifts alot smoother. My problem is this when I picked it up they told me that my front brakes are at 10% and will be 208.00 to replace and the following seals need to be replaced even though I have never seen even 1 drop under my truck. They said the trans output seal, T/C input seal, T/C front and rear output seal. What do you guys think about the seals???
You can do the brakes yourself in a half an hour and save yourself a hundred bucks easy...thats with changing the rotors. Just the pads would only run you $50 or so.
As far as the seals go, it's up to you if it bugs you bad enough unless it is a axle seal that is throwing grease or oil on to the brakes.
I just had mine inspected and got the same run around with seals...but not a drop of fluid under the truck. I figure I will worry when I start losing fluid.

I agree with Mike. Front brake pads are a no-brainer. Cheap pads from Napa can be bought for $27.00. An hour or so of work and they're done. Go to Summit Racing site and you can buy rotors pretty inexpensively also if you need them.
Seals get replaced when they eak fluid to the ground or at least where it is easily visible. Save your money for now. If your tranny leaks at or less than 1 quart fluid between oil changes, I still think that you're OK. More than that maybe it's time to get the seals replaced.
