Default flowmaster 40's/50's

Do any of you guys/gals have flowmaster 40's or suv 50's mufflers. Tow a trailer (5th wheel) and I am wondering what they wouldsound likeon a 98 360 quad cab with single exhaust.
Anybody have a sound bit of 40's and or 50's. Don't want something that would hurt the eardrums while towing.

Thanks Kayakman

it will sound pretty good, make sure you put tailpipes on it because it will ring you ears. I have a Delta Flow 40 series on my dodge with a 318 and it roars

I have had both. Started with the 50 SUV, and it had a nice rumble at low rpm, but really was quiet at highway speed and when you got on it at high rpm. I changed it out to a 40 series becasue I wanted it louder all the time, which it is. I still have my 50 laying around if you want it. It is single in/single out. I posted this awhile back, but have kinda forgotten about it. For shipping, you can have it.

Was your 50 welded to the pipes and then cut off at the welds?

Yes. I've never liked clamping an exhaust together.

So, would the pipes butt against the inlet and outlet and be welded or is it still possible the slide the pipes into the muffler and then weld?

I think you could butt them and weld them, or use an adapter/spacer to connect the two. Any good muffler shop should be able to weld it in no problem.

I just put Flowmaster series 50 delta flow single in single out on my 95 318 and I love it. It has a very similar sound to the 40 series, but a bit quieter, especially in the cab and at highway speeds it is quieter too unless you really get on it. Then it sounds really mean I routinely make trips in excess of two hours and just yesterday did a 120 mile tow without trouble. I wanted a meaner sound than stock, but didn't want it too loud to tolerate, and I'm very pleased with this muffler. I can still hear my radio, cell phone, or another passenger without difficulty unless my foot is really in it.
