Default Harland Sharps where?

OK. So where did you buy your Harland Sharps and for how much? I'm going to have to get some and have been surfing, but not finding much. How much of an increase in mileage did you notice?

John Mercedes john@southeastrt.comis the best place. He designed them and harland Sharp builds them. I paid $341 for my 1.6 roller rockers a few months ago. Talk to him and he'll know exactly what you need.

these improve performance, I didn't look for mpg.

Thanks Turkeyhunter. Just out of curiosity, why did you go with the 1.6's as opposed to the 1.7's?

I have a performance cam in my engine already. I do not have enough valve spring travel to install the 1.7's. They work perfect with stock cams though.

Cool. What type of milage do you get? And, what did your cam get you? Sorry to be so forward, but you only learn by asking.

I recommend buying from John, even if you find some a little cheaper elsewhere. He is one seriously good resource when it comes to Magnum engines. I beleive he is one of the designers of the HS rockers too. He even gave me his cell in case I had problems during my weekend install. His customer service with me has always been top notch, and when he says something, you can trust what he says to be true. I think I got lucky, I paid $299 + 12 shipped for mine, but that was some time ago now. I think they are in the $340-$350 range now.

Good luck.

I replaced my 318 with a performance 360 built as a towing motor. I get about 14 mpg with all the mods I've done and it loves pulling my 7800 lb fifth wheel camper. Everything I've done is to improve my towing performance. I could have made the mods for racing instead but I need to be able to pull my camper efficiently.

Thanks Silver. How's your truck running? I see in the searches that you didn't install aftermarket pushrods. Are you still in faver of that?

Truck runs great. No probs. If I could do it again, I would probably just do the pushrods considering how easy it is to replace them while your doing the rockers. Just adds more $$$ to the install is all. I would probably do new springs too. I was in a bind that weekend, and wanted to get them installed and didn't want to wait any longer for the pushrods, so I did it with stock rods. No problems though, and I may just put new rods in later.

Great! I am hoping to live long enough to tow with mine too. There's enough 5th wheels out there that I should be able to, I hate to say this out loud, but I can make 22 MPG on the hiway, not towing, and I think I can make more. I think it is how you drive on a trip. I truly think I can get 25 MPG if I drive right, and I'm going to try to get it.
