Default Odd mixing question

So I was thinking the other day about what parts are stronger between chevy, ford, and dodge. I know that the cummings diesel is by far one of the most reliable and stronger engines... and the chevy allison (spelling) is one of, if not the strongest transmissions. So has anyone ever mated an allison tranny to a cummings diesel? As we all know, dodge transmissions....well.... suck. So I think mating an allison to the cummings diesel would provide a bulletproof setup. So, has anyone ever done this? If so, are there any places taht make the adapters?[/align]

there are better aftermarket transmissions that are cheaper so there really isnt a point to it,.

The allison tranny that chevy uses behind the durajunk isn't really an allison tranny and and the cummins (without a g) is a ford motor, but it is a good motor.

Default RE: Odd mixing question

is a ford motor,
I am unable to find anything about cummins and a joint venture with ford (been looking for months when I first heard that rumor). I know that ford has bought engines from cummins and rebadged them to ford (samething they do with international's engines). The allison trans is a good trans if everything is stock, same with the dodge trans. Both trans's will have problems if you put a programmer in the engine. The only reason to go to an allison is for a 6speed, but dodge has a 6 speed behind the new cummins.
