emissions question..
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the 'air pump' that blows air into the cats.
I removed my cats and want to remove the air pump since it's probably not doing me any good on the power side of things. is it possible to remove the pump alone? or is it run on a surpentine belt? is there an aftermarket belt or pulley i can put in to replace the pump?
thanks guys.

put on 2.5" dual exhaust from the collectors back. i didn't really need the cats so i left them off.
the pump may not rob 'much' power, but i'd like to remove it anyways since it is robbing some power and it's not doing anything but blowing air under the truck..

i pretty sure our trucks don't have smog pumps. did you have a small pipe running into your cats, if not, you don't have a smog pump. If they do have a smog pump, it would be ran by the serpentine belt. You'd need to get a short serpentine belt and gain .25 horses.
yea i have that pipe that used to go to the cats, now it just sits under the truck and makes noise, kind of like a whistle. it's annoying so i want rid of it. it's also another orifice to collect mud/dirt/rust.

i thought about that. but that pump just doesn't have enough OOMPH to make any difference at all other than the draw on the engine that it's making
