my 98 ram 1500 check engine light came on. ihad it checked at mylocal auto parts store. PO720 speed circuit sensor malfunction. where is this sensor ? and where is the best place to get it.

 

The speedo sensor is on the transmission overdrive unit and the ABS sensor is the top of the rear diff.

 

so i guess i need to tell the dealer i need the one for the transmission right ?

 

yes, unless your parkbrake and ABS light are on also.. then its the one on the rear diff.

 

thanks for the help guys. i went to the dealer and got the speed sensor for the transmission today. it was priced better than i thought @ $22.00. unhooked the battery and putthe new sensoron hooked the battery back up drove it about 10 miles ITS FIXED THANKS.
