CEL Flashing.

Default CEL Flashing.

Im just wondering why a CEL would flash, with no problems seen, heard, or felt. happened today when I was running the highway.. when i stopped. so did the CEL flash. I couldnt get a code.

multiple misfire is the only time i've seen it come on....wet outside?

it rained- so multiple misfire.. maybe i'll need to tighten the plugs a bit more, dont have a torque bar so i only tightened them slightly more than handtight.

i changed my plugs recently, i believe with a gasket it was 1/2 turn once seated. that's just the first time you tighten it, the gasket crushes. Don't know what the torque spec is. but if moisture is causing the problem, it's probably time for cap/wires/rotor. make sure you route them properly, some of these trucks are picky about that. there is a tsb on this.

on OBDII vehicles, the MIL will fash if there is the possiblity for serve damage to the Catylist System(the cat). basically a miss fire 99% of the time

yeh.. probably not anything to do with the cat.. ..

and i think that most sparkplugs are torque specific to brand..
i replaced the bosch with bosch.. luckily, and i think its torque rating was 24(5?)lbs/nm
cap/wires/rotor should be next on the agenda, but its definately a pain to get to.
