its been real warm here the past few days so i decided to use my ac and when i use it my truck really sounds like its struggling. it sounds like its in low gear going 40 down the road the motor is soo loud. i know ac takes a bit of power away from the truck but im not noticing a huge loss in power just alot of noise like it lost all power. i shut it off and after a few minutes the truck goes back to normal. the truck made this noise one other time when it was cold and i started driving it without letting it warm up. it sounds like a semi in 1st gear being wound out. any ideas any one. is it normal?? non of my other trucks did this i never even noticed a difference with my other trucks. thanks 02 ram 2500 4x4 5.9 auto

it will make it sound like that?? man that thing is loud ive never heard one so loud.

 

On my truck it doesn't but my buddy's dakota does it so bad it's ridiculous.

 

yeah this too loud i drove by a concrete wall today while it was doing it and the sound bounced off the wall so i got to hear it like others do and its obnoxiouse

 

Mine has also made this sound the day before my birthday. turned out i was having problems with overheating in this make, model, and generation. mine is due to the Fan Clutch. I also replaced the water pump just in case. right now as of June 20, 2008 I have found out the replacement is on National Back-Order. The part is currently $194 and is Part #52029876
