well any one following my problems here is another update. truck has had intermitant pinging and oil consumption problems just once with the oil but ping is totaly random I did the plenum gasket with the hughs plate did a tune up and still pings I used the bosch platnum +4 plugh which I have since read are not too great and could be the cause of my continued pinging. will the Autolite 3923's work in a 99 5.9(360) engine? thanks

Pinging is a fuel issue and the autolite's should solve it.

3923's will work in 318 or 360. they are one heat range cooler than stock. prior to fixing my plenum they did not help any with my pinging. (plenum, timing chain, tune up, etc all fixed mine, but i don't know if it was any one thing or combination of them all). pinging can also be caused by carbon build up and excessive heat. you might also consider a 180* thermostat and a steady supply of fuel injection cleaner. some might recommend seafoam, but i've never used it. if the pinging is steady you might also consider resetting pcm to see if that helps any.
