I got mine 280 installed at a local exhaust shop and it was a high performance cat. But I ran mine after i cut it off. There is a recall on that thing so check with your local dealer, my daler told me to **** off.

I just replaced my cat and live in California. The shop charged me $265 for the cat and to weld it on. Took 30 mins. Did it on my lunch break. Truck sounds great and feels like it has more power.

You can cut the old one off and weld or clamp a new one on, or you could just put in a piece of straight pipe with O2 simulators if there are emission tests.

Most of the emission tests I have been to look for the cat so a straight pipe would fail.

Instalation cost 90 or the cat? Mine was a high flow direct replacement and put it in myself only took about 2 hours taking my time.

Yeah, Cali laws suck!!! At the track they call them "Piggy Pipes" because they look like little empty pot belly "pigs"...common on my Audi car for racing...I opted for the hi-flow metalic mesh cat for street in my 99 Ram with the 5.9L...sounds very loud and throaty...but yeah, paid like $125 for it and to be welded up to my 3" pipe from headers to tips!

"Loud Pipes Save Lives!!"

Oh yeah Wildthing...that's right, there was a recall on the Cats...I called Dodge and they sent me a form to fill out with and attach acopy of my receipt and they refunded me what the dealership would have charged me...forgot about that until I read your post!!!
