Need Help Please!
I have a 95 Ram 1500 4x4 5.2 magnum fi,i just changed the egr and cleaned the tb,put new plug wires and still runs like a singer sewing machine and feels like your driving a jackhammer how it jerks when it goes into overdrive! What can make a truck run like that?check engine light went out after changing egr so now im lost, can anyone help me??thanks in advance..
Ok,it has no cat but does have the 02 sens on it still, when i say it runs like sewing machine i mean it sounds like one,it is spuddering constantly with little power and does the jack hammer jumping when it shifts to overdrive ,i only changed the plug wires because plugs look like new,thanks..

RE: Need Help Please!
Only time I ever heard anyone say something is running like a sewing machine they meant it was running great. Can you elaborate. Is it just shifting poorly going into overdrive or is it missing and falling on its face all the time?
BTW, did you change the plugs or just the wires?

RE: Need Help Please!
a friend of mine had a 99 that had a bad jackhammer type shudder when it went up a hill. something in the trans. was hammering back and forth (valve, solenoid, clutch, etc). if you stayed gentle on the gas it would jerk, if you pressed the gas far enough to create downshift, then it would quit hammering and go on up the hill. i told him he needed to see a trans. shop. he got scared and sold it, so we never did find out what it was. we tried changing fluid twice about 2 weeks apart. it seemed better for about 3-4 days, but then came back. his did not do it cold; only after fully warmed like a 10-15 mile drive. i originally called it a jack hammer feeling. i'd also go with a 'sewing machine' sound.
