Default RE: California emissions

I'm the person who calls tech support and they say no one else is having that problem. I don't even live in Cali and I end up with a Cali emissions truck, [:@]. I was hoping someone else would say "yea I have one of those and it sucks or it's no worse than a standard truck" Thanks for the good info on cats. I think it's safe to say that the cat system I have has more restriction than a non-Cali truck. The service manual shows the system I have. After each manifold is a "mini" cat with an O2 sensor before and after and then after the "Y" there is a main converter. It is all one assembly. I don't think they are bad now but many people have talked about plugged cats or just replacing them because their truck has alot of miles. So, if I keep my truck I may have to replace the cats eventually so I am trying to find a source now other than the stealership.

Default RE: California emissions

my 01 dakota has 2 cats down from the exhaust manifold and a resnotar on on the pipe from the muffler , (none cali) i was told the newer trucks cats flow pretty well but look at the stock muffler these things are 30" long on my 96 ram the stock muffler is only 22" long... with a single cat start seeing a trend here ? newer the truck harder they are on with the emissions..dont think what you have is hurting any thing like i said maybe the o2 sensor....And unless the cats are bad no one will touch them....
