RE: 99 dodge 4x4 cummins steering
No, it's not "OK". The dealer is retarded. Mine drove perfect for 90k. I have a 99 1500 and it just started wandering a little, actually it has a dead spot in the steering. I replaced the track bar with a Napa Spicer one and it seems worse now. There's gotta be something else wrong i.e. tie rods, pitman arm, drag link, etc. The only advice I can give is what I've read on here: get underneath and look at every component and check for play. I'm gonna do the same and will let you know.

I assume the steering box is similar to my 1500 which has an adjustment on it to pick up the slack in the box itself. If you see slack in the box then loosen the nut on the top of the box not alowing the bolt to turn with an allen wrench.when the bolt is loose tighten up the center bolt clockwise, tighten and test drive. I have the exact procedure and if i can find it i'll post it.
