Default TB Find

I was poking arou nd ebay last night and I came accross this throttle body. It claims to be a Chrylser Protoype bored out to 52mm. What do you guys think. I e-mailed the seller if he ahd instructions and he said no but he would try to find some.

I'd be curious what the bore is from top to bottom. Notice the airhorns are gone. According to some people on here, Dodge puts those there because it is supposed to improve air flow. So why remove them for this prototype?

I know one of the bidders on this, and will be curious to see what he says if he wins it and trys it out.

by removing the air horns and opening it up a bit will increase the air flow. more air more power. i went with www.thefastman.com throttle body on my 05 4.7 and it really woke up the motor. has a 68.5 on there and went to the 70. the thing about the factory tb is it is not true frt to back. the frt of the tb was a 65 mm and it got bigger towards the back a 68 mm. so i had him open it up to a true 70 mm from frt to back. which is better,.check him out and drop him an email.

Oh ya, i've already got my Fastman, and love it. That's why I am curious what the bore is on this one from top to bottom. In stock form, mine was 50mm coned to 47mm. Fastman bored it to 50mm on both ends. The 5.9 engines have a 52mm TB stock, but it cones to something like 49mm or 50mm. I'm curious to see if this one is 52mm on both ends.

There are those on here who argue that the air horns are there to improve flow.

So let us know what you think when you get it. Take lots of measurements.

I actually bought one of them about 2 years ago, it was cheap and has a TPS and IAC on it (although i never checked to see if they fit my stock TB) and it bolted right up just fine, except for the air cleaner! probably would have fit a CAI, but my CAI got scrapped after it let muddy water into everything. I honestly don't know how so many guys run them, my motor was swamped in 15 minutes of mud bashing (ok, maybe i don't pick the smartest lines). But I did run it for about 10 mins w/o the cleaner, did SEEM to breathe a lot better up top, of course that's a very limited test period. unfortunately it's very far away from me right now otherwise i'd take measurements. NOTE: it DID have the threaded hole in the top for the offset rod to mount an aftermarket intake, might work for guys running something like that.
