Default RE: lift kits

i can relate to wanting to lift a 2wd. i never go offroading but i like how big high trucks look. i found a 2wd and i do plan to lift it with a 3" lift and put bigger tires. now no im not putting 37s and getting carried away but i think a lifted 2wd 3-4" are better then having a stock 2wd truck... later i plan to lift and put 33s or 34s.(depending exact tire size).

good luck

Mine is a 94 1500 2WD 5.9, auto, reg. cab, long bed with a 3" coil spring front and 2" block rear lift.It clears 285/75/16 MTRs just fine. Does quite a bit better off road than stock. Before the lift the bottom of the truck would rub on dirt trails that were just slightly rutted. As for 2WD providing only half the traction.......not true. If you've got a limited slip or rear locker, you've got nearly the same traction as a stock 4WD with open differentials (which most have). The only difference is you've got two rear wheels spinning instead of one front/one rear. I don't go looking for tough stuff to drive through, but occasionally you come across stuff you have to get through instead of turning around! A little lift, mud tires, and a locker are far superior to stock for the occasional trail ride. Oh yeah, you cant beat the big V-8 to keep things moving.
