Default Cruise COntrol Woes

Anyone got electrical wiring diagrams that show the cruise contol circuit for a '95 Dodge 1500 Ram 4x4, and a '96 Dodge1500 Ram 2x4.... Both trucks cruise control has died, but yet still have power at the steering wheel switch. Will not allow me to set the speeed to hold.... Anyone had experience on what might be causing this problem??? Any help will be appreciated... Thanks...

check the vacuum lines, i've had them rub through on the PS pulley, and i think there's some problems with battery acid dripping onto the lines due to the unit being underneath the battery.

Froesen: Thanks for the redirect.... Found the little 90° vacuum fitting on the control module broken on the '96.... Took an hour to get the stupid module out from under the battery tray, just to find the vacuum line attachment point. Hopefully, the reconnected vac line will fix the woes... Now, I also know where to look on the other '95 P/U..... What made Dodge think to something that important UNDER the battery tray??? Blows me away..... Thanks.... BC

Default Cruise Control Stuck On " SCARY "

I have been having issues since I had to change my cummins ECU at 316,000 miles as I was losing my communication signal between my dodge and cummins computer.
This last time I was stranded I was able to get it running again but still had 300 plus highway miles to drive so I thought I would try setting the Cruise this time. We'll all worked out well till it came time to shut it off ( IT WOULDN'T) and will about 800 pony's pushing this thing coming into town at 80 wasn't good.

I could shut all the lights off on the dash through my steering wheel but it will not dis engage the Cruise so as soon as you start it she takes off like a bat out of hell.
Any Ideas ???

15 year old thread, best to create your own with the truck information, assuming you are dealing with a 98+ 24v being you say it has a separate engine ECU. I would check the the bell crank on the top front drivers edge of the head, by the intake horn. Remove the plastic rounded cover with a couple push pins. Verify the throttle cable linkage all moves freely and isn't seized. If it is, I would start by disconnecting the cruise actuator cable and see if that is seized up.
