Re-wiring the eBay projectors
Hey all,
Both my headlights were cracked and extensively yellow, so I picked up a set of the eBay projectors. I remember reading (before I purchased) that I would have to do a little re-wiring to get them to work right...well, I bought the lights and then have spent the last couple days trying to find the post that explains what to re-wire..guess what...I can't find it.
So can anyone please explain to me how I need to re-wire these lights to work right?

the only thing i had to do with mine was switch one of the pins b/c the pass side high and low beams were backwards. Dont remember which pin i switched, but they work fine now. When you get them in, give us an update on how they came out... mine seem to have an odd beam pattern, and im just wondering if its normal, or if mine are no good.
thanks
thanks
Yeah, the projector seems to spit out a pretty wierd pattern on mine. They are quite a bit brighter than my stockers though (but my stocker were way crap), but the low beam is pretty much non-existant w/ the wrong wiring.
I ended up switching the ground pins for both lights with the high beams and it helped some, but it is still not right. So I'm only suppose to be fixing the passanger side? If you wouldn't mind finding out exactly what you did, I would REALLY appreciate it.
TIA

Here is my post on DTW.com. Don't know what the rules are on cross posting. I can copy and paste it all if needed.

Figured it out. Thanks all. It ended up being two problems...the ground wires on both were in the high beam position and the high beam and low beam on the driver side were switched. Go figure, they can't even make the same mistake on both lights. Anyway, my lowbeams are much better now and high are okay, but I'm going to try and figure out a way to get both bulbs on at the same time when I run the high beam.

Let me know if you figure out what to do on getting highs and lows on the same time. I would like it. I have my fog lights to stay on with my bright lights. I was afraid of having the highs and lows on at the same time would over heat the wires or switch. Any ideas?
Yeah, I thought about it and the heat issue was too great. Especially considering it states "not for HID use" <-- tells me the plastic is cheap and melts too easy. I think I'm just going to invest in some decent fog lights.
If you were really wanting to do it though, I'd imagine it will take some sort of relay to allow the high and lows to receive the same signal during the "high" stage, but allow the signal to travel to only the low-side during the "low" stage. It wouldn't be too hard, but then we are brought back to the heat issue.
