Stock tire size 225?!
I went and got a quote on tires the other day and the salesman and I got into it. When I told him what size I wanted (225) he said the tire size for my truck was 245. Well we went back and forth for a while and finally I told him to march his a$$ out to my truck and read the sticker. Let's just say that he learned the meaning of "The customer is always right.". What's everybody else's stock tire size? Do I have an oddball? To conclude the story I'm gonna get 245 BFG's. Figured I'd downgrade from my 265's to see if I can get better mileage and a smoother ride.
I have 225 also , but if you are going to change to 245 or 265 your speedometer is going to give you a false reading , make sure you drive next toyour buddy on the Hi-way and compare with them to be sure.
The standard tire size is 225/75/16, this comes on most base model trucks.
The Lariets have 245/75/16 as a factory option.
I'm looking for some on mine but I'm going with 265/70/15 which is about the same circumference.
As far as going to a smaller tire to save gas, probably not even measurable,
nowif you were dropping from a 35 to a 245 then you'll save some gas.

Mines sticker says 245/75 16 but my spare is a 265/75 16, which is what I bought the truck with. Currently running 285/75 R 16s and yeah the gas mileage is pretty un noticable. Actually mines been a little better latley cause i've put on a alot of highway miles. but if youmostly drive around town the smaller tires will be better for your mileage. but it's pretty miniscule. The bigger tires look better
