Why isn't my trans. shifting? what headers?
I own a '96 Ram 1500 2WD 5,2l here in the UK and for some reason it seems to be stuck in third gear. Turning the OD on or off makes no difference. I went to work and everything was OK, then, went to drivee home and it felt like the brakes were locked on. I've checked to see if intake or exhaust is restricted and checked to see if all the wires are connected to the transmission. There is nothing out of the ordinary. Is being stuck in 3rd a 'get-me-home'?
Also, has anyone had a positive experience with a particular type of header and what sort of gains can I expect. Will these gains make my fuel consumption suffer or improve?
Kindest regards & many thanks for any information you can give me.

Do you have reverse? Can you manually shift into first or second?
As far as headers, I would get long tube headers. There are only a few options out there. Pacesetters seemed like the best to me. I just purchased a set from Summit. AtKrc Performance, thePacesetters dynoed 33 ft/lbs better than shorty headers. I would think this would definately help mpg's (or kpg's). I haven't gotten mine installed yet so I can't post hard numbers. Indyramman just put a set on his truck, but, judging by the videos he posted, his mileage is probably suffering big time right now. Maybe once he is done'breaking them in' he can post somemileage numbers.

I can select reverse and also select 1 &2 but the vehicle still pulls away in what seems like 3rd. If I floor it on a flat road revs go straight up to approx 2000- 2300 but is very sluggish, almost like the brakes are on but stays like this up to about 60-70MPH & doesn't shift up which makes me think I'm stuck in 3rd.
