Default Viper Rockers really?

After a lot of reading and a good bit ofconflicting information I want to know how many people have installed the viper rockers and liked or disliked them. I am wanting to do a little work, but I'm not sure if my wallet can see its way around the harland sharps.I'm wanting more low-end torque for towing and off the line acceleration. Wondering also if anyone has dynoed before and after this mod, and what year/engine comboyou have.

Bump. I'm interested as well. I seriously doubt I'd do it to my truck since I don't need the power, but I am curious...

Apparently if you call Mopar Performance, they will tell you that they will not work. There was a thread a while back about this. Hankl quoted several otherreliable sources that stated the same. The jist was that you cannot get the correct valvetrain geometry with the Viper rockers. Though you can bolt them on and get them to work, you will probably end up with the heads off and in the machine shop down the road. Harland Sharps (or others) would be way cheaper than Viper rockers + head work + roller rockers if you still want to accomplish the same goal after all ofthat.

LomcevaDuck-- I can't give you any information regarding the viper rockers but with the Harland Sharps non-adjustables, I noticed a big performance difference in the low to mid range power band. I love them and one of the best mods I've done to my truck for more towing power. I just towed my 25 ft Outback trailer with a dry weight of 5300# to Big Sur, here in California, and I was very pleased with the way my truck pulled the trailer. All of my mods worked very well pulling the trailer as well as climbing some steep grades. Before adding any mods to my truck, my truck was a dog pulling the trailer. Now I'm very satisfied with the way my truck pulls, and I am happy with the Harland Sharp RR's. A little more expensive, but definitely worth the cost. Hope this helps.

How hard were the HS 1.7s to install? Anything else you need to buy to install them (special tooling or other parts)?
