Default Spectre air intake

I'm thinking about getting the Spectre air intake system, which is nothing more than straight and prebent tubing and clamps that let you build your own cold air intake. Would the MAF be a problem, or anything else along those lines? 98 Ram, Magnum 318, likes gas.

There is no MAF. Dodges use MAP sensors. A Spectre intake would work, but the only issue is the throttlebody itself, which is different than most sport compact cars (which is what Spectre caters to). The 318's throttlebody is more like an old carbuerator...

Ok, I was looking through their magazine the other day, and I saw plenty of old skool muscle with the Spectre stuff. The next step would be to get some measurements and check with them. The reason I want the build-your-own intake is because I want the air drawn from pretty high up in the engine bay so i won't get as much water/mud in it.

Then just put an open element air filter on like they do on muscle cars. Mopar Performance makes a good one for about $45.

Quick stupid question: there is a stud for the breather, right? I can't remeber and don't want to get up to look.

Yeah, I saw it on sale once and thought that was the actual price. I checked Summit, and it's back up to $75. [sm=escape.gif]
