Just thought I would let you guys know there is a CAI on ebay complete with a heat sheild for $59 shipped to the 48 states its a little extra for the rest. Its a quality system sheet metal air box heavy aluminum tube and polymer tb section. It comes with all the parts you need but no instructions took me about 30 minutes to install and figure everything out. Although I feel it does not come with sufficient foam peices to properly seal the air box. $5 at a hardware store will fix that. The tube is painted black and gets hot while sittting still but cools right down when you get going. I may wrap it in some sort of insulation at some point. It did improve my city mpg by 2 and I am thinking highway is up by 4 but can post that tomorrow after work. All and all a great buy. if interested I found it by doing a search on ebay motors under parts and then air intake systems then type in dodge ram you get the phone book but its in there. Be sure it is the one with the heat sheild there are similar intakes that do not come with the sheild for the same price. I think it is called "heat sheild" this guy has multiple auctions for this item.

hey thanks for the link I would have posted it later today after I got home. The government saw fit to block ebay from the computers at work. Any one buy one yet or thinking about it? If you need help let me know I can post step by step instructions for you. The biggest hint is the spacer goes to the bolt for the forward mounting hole and the rubber peice needs a washer on both ends outside of the box and one on the inside.

 

ok guys here it is on the round trip I drive 14 miles in town and 70 miles interstate. I get 17.3 to 18.1 at 60mph with light traffic. I drove at 60mph to work and came home at 80mph(had to get home!) and I got 17.1 so it hase done some good but I cant say for sure how much.

 

Just one more comment on this I dont know about K&N or the others but when you get on it it has a really nice growl comming from the tb. I am going on a 1000 milw road trip with it mid month I will post again on it after that.

ok here is the update I am half way through the trip and over moutians and all running 70 to 75 mph getting 17mpe even and consistantly. overall oponion of this product 2 thumbs up!
