Default So I have a miss

Hey, havent posted in a while but im back now.
My truck has a miss and im not sure what it is.
When im driving along at about 60mph it has that hesatation. Itll jump back in forth about 1000rpms.
And when I go and mat it, theres a delay and then it will kick in.

The truck has all new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor.

Also if you floor it and come outta it right quick flames will shoot out the exhaust.

Any info would be great.. Im tryin to get all the bugs worked out.
I have a few more issues ill post later..
Thanks

How new are the ignition wires? Did you just do them? Did this just start? Are they routed properly? Check the 4 & 8 and the 5 & 7. They can't be near each other at all or the spark can cross over and give you a misfire. Especially at higher speeds. Could even cause the flamage if there is extra fuel in the cylinder that doesn't get burned properly.

Sounds like a fuel mixture problem to me. Check your map sensor. It could be 'sticky' or have a diaphragm leak. Best thing is to put a scanner on it and see what is happening during the conditions that you described. When it is surging look for varying map reading and fuel trims. When you punch it and pull back out, check and see if the map sticks in one place. If the injectors are still fueling while the butterflies are closed, themotor will throw all that fuel into the exhaust.

Thanks for the info, Ill give it all ago.
The wires are very recent. 300mile on them maybe.
Another issue I noticed, that might contribute. Seems the the previous owner changed the fuel sending unit and pump. They are from a different year because the wires are spliced into the harness (tank) . My gas guage doesnt work at all, but I dunno if it contributes to the power loss..

Are there any things I can do to make sure everything is up to snuff?
Clean the TB, change thermostat, drop a cold air intake on, anything else in expensive to make things work better?

Thanks for all the help!!

Fixed it.. Cleaned up the engine bay and re organized everything. Seen she was cross wired. Fixed that and cleaned up the plugs.. Runs like a charm.
Thanks for the help!

I think I may have a fuel problem lol.. Damn bugs, gotta work them out.
Truck doesnt have the original model fuel pump or sending unit on it. Its all spliced. Gas guage doesnt read either. Just flashes some times..

But the crossfireing issue being fixed, she drives ALOT better lol. Not at 100% yet though. Were up from about 25% though.

Any ideas?
Thanks

It may be an expense, but, get the correct fuel pump, etc. for your vehicle. You don't know what year, make, model you have in there? Then hit the dealer for a harness for fuel pump circuit. Also, the previous owner may have bent the float rod on installation rendering you gauge...kaput!
