Default Differential/axle identification...

Okay.... I've exhausted the search function to thebest of my ability. I want to know forsure what axles and differential I have in my '96 1500 4x4. Its the 5.9L auto.

My research so far has told me that the rear axle is the chrysler 9-1/4", and the front is a dana-44. Is this correct?
Now, how do I tell if I have the limited slip in the rear? The only visible tag on the diff cover shows "1366".

Any help would be appreciated!

unless changed out by prev owner, yes you have 9 1/2 and D44.
look for equipment options on the tag in your glove box.
also look for a paper tag on the rear axle, drivers side, near the spring. if its there, it will say something like 3.55 open. open is not limited slip. LSD or Anti Spin is limited slip.

here's some info. lots of info avail from the search..."limited slip"
