Default exhaust question..

Well since no one is in the exhaust section ill ask it here.. I plan on getting another exhaust for my truck..the old exhaust which is a flowmaster has fallen apart one ofthe tail pipes is gone and it isnt really that loud.. i dont know what series it is but its a big black flowmaster.. i know what the 40 series looks like its like a chrome or aluminum color. anyways i want to run the flowmaster 40 series (original) SI/DO.. its cheaper than true duels and im on a budget. i had the flows on my ranger and it didnt sound bad for a truck with only 145 horsepower (lol). but anyways what size piping would you do? i really want to run the duals before the rear tires like 1 pipe at a 90 degree before the passenger tire and another pipe at a 90* angle drivers side tire.you know the setup im talking about?? andis it possible? and will it sound better because you're not using as much pipe? any input is greatly appreciated. thanks.

p.s. i need to get the muffler fixed in order to get an inspection sticker.

40 series is gonna be loud but sounds good..there a problem i see running out the front of driver side .. driveshaft and fuel tank would be in the way , if you run the pipes after the wheel wells then there be no problems running them like that..and put the SS tips on !!!

I have no idea why it is not loud , and yes comes out behind the wheel well not before it.. The stainless steel tips comes in different size and shapes check with your local shop , but the norm is 3" round , 12" long or a 3 1/2" round ... helps the sound ..

There was a thread awhile ago about posting sound and video clips of peoples exhuast. If I weren't feeling lazy I'd find it for you lol.

Anyways if you want good sounding exhaust listen to padodgeram. He has one of the best sounding trucks on the forum.

Thank you , thank you...my set up is or was a highflow cat 3" out into a 3" in flowmaster 40 series delta flow dual 2.5"out with 3.5" SS TIPS... yes it was loud but not to loud in the cab on the outside it was nasty but a good nasty.. it was where you drive by people and u hear em saying christ ! or holly hell !!! even the local cops like the way it sound..... But running the 3" out was a bit of a over kill lost a little low end so now im going back to 2.5" in and dual 2.5" out flowmaster with 3" SStips... the name of the thread is lets hear your ram...
