Im new and I have a 97 5.2 2wd. When running white smoke is coming out theexhaust!I haph to keep filing up my ratiater like every 2-3days,the truck runs and drives good still never gets hot.Its ben doingthis for a couple weeks now im guessing its my head gasket is anyonefamiliar with this??[/align]

sounds like head gasket is blown. you could probably verify which cyl with a compression tester in the spark plug hole. there is also a leak down tester you can place on the radiator cap. once verified, you'd want to do both sides of the engine.

Your truck probably has some miles on it so I'd do this. My cousin had a toyota truck that was pouring white smoke so I put in some rad/head gasket stop leak, it stopped smoking and never started again.
