Default Anyone with experence with insurance?

ok... kinda long story...

Anyways. My boss a few days ago, asked me to let her borrow a tow strap so she could pull out a bush with her jeep, anyways her jeep dident have the power to get it out, so I said I would do it for her, becasue I knew my truck had plenty of power.
I did it this morning, it was a tiny *** bush, ive pulled out trees/bushes 5 times this size... so I thought psh thats nothing. I was on pavement, and I stuck it in 4 low and just tryed slowly easeing it out, but the truck just spun the tires on the cement... so I backed up about a foot, and got some speed becasue I figured that would jurk it out... anyways, that dident do it... It actually threw my truck about 3-4 feet to the side, and slammed it into her house. The damage to the house is very minimal and she said she isnt going to even bother to fix it, but the bed of my truck is dented and pushed in about 8 inches.

She felt really bad, and she said that she would pay for it to be fixed (Thank God!) but I got to thinking... what would be the better thing to do for this situation... Going through my car insurance (I have full coverage), going thorough my car insurace saying that I got hit in a parking lot, or going through her house insurance...

Does anyone have and experience with someitnhg like this???

Any help would be great...

The insurance will go up anyway no matter who fixes it.
your insurance company will find out sooner or later
good luck getting this figured out.

well i doubt her house insurance would cover it since the house dident hit you lol and i would say somone hit u in a parking lot cuz they will probley figure it out (if there is any house paint on the truck for example) and if you go through your insurance your preimums will most likey go up (dont know how much may not be too bad) id say ither let her pay to repair or look into seeing how much your insurance would go up and ask her to pay the diffrence (would probaly be cheper for her)

under certain conditions where she as a property owner is liable, her homeowners insurance would pay, with no deductible to anyone. examples would include if her tree fell on your truck, or you as a friend helping her fell off a ladder and got injured, or you as a friend (not for hire) pulling down a tree and her tree fell on your truck. running into her house is a little bit of a stretch, but it doesn't hurt anything to file a claim, tell the truth, and see how it comes out. the worst that can happen is a denial.

if you turn it in on your insurance and tell the truth, you will be required to pay your deductible, and insurance will pay the rest. if this is your only claim, nothing or nothing much will happen to your rates. if you already have a claim history, i'd could affect rates or good standing. i think it would file under 'collision, even though its on private property.

if you try a BS story about hitting a deer, or someone hitting you in a parking lot, it would still file under your insurance as 'comprehensive(other than collision)', or maybe 'uninsured motorist', and the appropriate deductible would apply.

if you try a BS story, be aware that if the truth unfolds for whatever reason, more trouble can develop. the old saying about it takes 2 to keep a secret.

get an estimate and find out how much your talking about. be aware that there are very expensive repair shops and not so expensive. there are also 'insurance' quotes that are high, and maybe a little jacked up and there are 'out of pocket' quotes which can be lower. paint and body work can be really high.

a few options include..
1. she pays it all, no ins.
2. you pay it all.
3. you split it 50/50
4. file her homeowners, no cost to anyone. might work/might not, no harm in the truth.
5. file your insurance, you pay deductible.
6. your ins, she pays ded.
7. your ins, split your ded 50/50.

if the repair is under $500, i'd do #3.
if over $1000, i'd try #4 first. if denied, then do #7.
if between $500-1000, i'm not sure...paying a $500 ded for a $250 benefit and recording a claim is iffy.

oh yeah, i forgot to tell my funny story.
many years ago we had a bachelor party at my house in the middle of a snowstorm up in indiana. one buddy was already roaring drunk when he showed up, and after cutting doughnuts in the back yard for several rounds he aimed it at the house and pulled up to the back patio door. umm.. ice and snow.. so he slides across the frozen patio and just taps the sliding glass door with a big crash. we had to put up tarps and blankets with duct tape to keep the snow out. so after everybody sobers up the next day he tells me he's pretty good buddies with his insurance company, and they will file a claim on HIS homeowners insurance with the BS story that we were unloading firewood at my house and he was throwing the wood off the truck and HE threw it into my sliding glass door. we didn't file it under his auto insurance because he already had a bad claim history on it. it was only a couple hundred bucks back then but his homeowners paid for new glass panels and install.

Thanks, That helps alot...
She is a realitor also, so she knows alot about houses as it is, so she might know something about house insurance also...

The damage doesnt look horrible, but it looks alot worse than it is, if this truck was more of a beater truck I would fix it my self and I could get it looking almost perfect.

There is a big dent, which could easily be popped out with no problems, but there is one crease, where the paint is chipped, and the whole bottom of the bed is pushed in a good 8 inches (you can see all of my tire if your behind me).

I might make the paint a little worse, becasue I want to MAKE SURE that they repaint that enitre side of the bed because the truck was crashed on that side once before and the body shop who did the work layed down ****ty paint that doesnt even remotely match.
