Default What The Crap?!

Ok, I have a Pioneer 6900 H/U. You are supposed to be able to hook up an Ipod or a MP3 player to it. I paid extra for that. Well I went and bought a Zune today and go all my songs loaded on to it. Then I went out to my truck and tried to hook it up the the H/U. NOTHING. It says format read and the N/A USB. I have done everything in occordance with Pioneer and it should work according to their website. Does anybody have any idea what I can do to make this very expensive little thing work like it's supposed to. I love the Zune, but the whole reason I bought it was to run in my truck. (If anyone has noticed I put up this same post in the audio/visual section, but nobody answer so I figured I'd try what has always worked in the past. You guys!)

if you mean USB when you said mp3 hookup i know what the issues is. it even says in owners manual. it will only read MOST mp3 devices. but some of them have the HDD partitioned and in clear reads in the manual that it wont read that type. i have a creative zen and it wont read that either but if i hook up my thumb drive with mp3's on it, it plays them just fine.

Well then go to http://www.zune.net/en-us/meetzune/techspecs/player.htm and see if the player should work. I don't really know what I'm looking at and you seem to know what your talking about. I would appreciate it if you would look at it for me.

it does not say on the tech page if it partitioned or not but since it is a HDD style mp3 player more then likely it is. i am pretty sure only the flash memory based mp3 units will work with the usb port on that deck.
so in short: no the zune will not work witht hat deck, sorry.

Looks like my only real option is to take back the Zune and get an Ipod. That means that I will have to buy the Pioneer interface and switch over to Itunes. That's gonna suck because all I have ever had is Windows on my computers. I really wish the Zune would have worked because it was a 30GB for the same price as an Ipod 4GB. I hate change. They should really make this kind of stuff more user friendly. Makes me want to go beat up some nerds.
