Default edit B/U lighing puzzle driving me nuts

ok im still scraching my head on this one....

when i got my truck the b/u lights dident work, the fuse was poped so i put in a new one it poped i traced the wirring couldent find the short so i figured it was in the switch on the tranny...that was about 2 years ago and i havent gotten around to it since, if i needed b/u lights i just would flip the switch for the ones mounted on my head ake rack....well today i was installing my new led light strip (the old one quit working on one side so i got it warrentied and it was a upgrade) this led light strip has red and white leds (white for backup) so i fugured ig see if i could fix the truck to make them work

well i put the fuse back in (its been out for the last 2 years) and put the truck in reverce, the fuse dident pop but my DRL's started working but still no b/u lights...anyone know how this is possable i dident think the drl's and b/u lights were hooked together and i dont even know where to start if this is the case

here is a pic of the light strip with the park lights on

possibly it didnt pop because it bypassed the problem enroute to the new lights?

alright i have been out tracing wires all morning, and i havent gotten anywhere... ii was thinking of cutting the wire that comes off the switch in the trans run it to a relay then run the relay to the b/u lights my question is thow i have found a lot of purple/black wires (same as the one that comes out of the trans) some go to the junction box and some go to the PCM so if i cut it am i going to loose/hurt anything else

pull the trailer harness out. ( if yours is the factory quick connecter one) and see if it works without it. mine gave me all kinds of crap from my back up lights to randomly loosing tail lights. dont do it anymore
