Default Tires and MPG

I was looking into buying some new tires and I'm not sure what size to put on my truck. 2001 Dodge Ram 4x4 w/ Off-Road Package 4.10 gears. Currently have 285/70/17s I want to run either 305 or 315 Mastercraft A/Ts . The reason I'm sending this is I'm wondering what my mpg loss will be since gas is $2.83 a gallon? Mastercraft has the tire in a 285 and 315 what do you think? I don't do much offroading but the bigger tires look better because the 285 BFG A/Ts look small.

Eh the 315s probably won't rub too bad if you stay on the road. Probably lose like 1mpg or less. depending on what kind of driving you do. If it's all highway you might not really notice a loss.

305/65/ 17 are the same size as 285/ 70/ 17's they are just wider. so you won't lose any mpg...if you go with 315/70/17 you may lose a little mpg and some low end....
