Default U JOINTS ? CLUNKING AFTER PUT IN REVERSE

I OWN A 98 DODGE RAM 1500 SPORT 5.9 V8 EXTENDED CAB AND RECENTLY I'VE NOTICED THIS NOISE WHEN I PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN REVERSE. IT GOES INTO GEAR BUT FIRST IT CLINKS AND I'VE BEEN TOLD ITS THE UNIVERSALS, ANYONE ELSE CONFIRM THIS AND TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET THE U-JOINTS FRONT AND REAR, I AM GOING ON VACATION SOON AND HAVE TO FIX THIS NOW-- ANYONE KNOW THE DIFFERENCE TOO WHY NOTHING IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE REGULAR MODEL AND SPORT SUCH AS GRILLES AND OTHER STUFF? I OWN A SPORT AND THIS IS FRUSTRATING ME.

I have the same problem. One of my U-Joints was bad and I had it replaced and the noise got better but it still does it, and all the joints are good. If it is the spyder gears then does that mean there is something wrong with them or what?

No, its normal for them. They're set up that way to have just a little play in them. You can crawl under your truck when its in PARK and off and try to wiggle the driveshaft up/down side to side too. It should have very little or no play in it. If you can see one of the u-joints moving in the cap then its shot and needs to be replaced.
