Default Trackbar=Panhard?

I was looking at some suspension setups last night and reading about Panhard bars. From what I understand, they restrict any motion in the lateral direction. After reading this, I thought about the track bars on 2nd gen trucks. Is "track bar" just a different name for a Panhard bar, or is there a difference?

4wd come with them in the front because of he 4 link suspension setup they have, your upper and lower control arms control all the movement in your front end in 2wds. You can put one on your rear end, but it wouldn't help much i don't think becuase the parallel leaf springs control the lateral movement of the axles. If your worried about axle wrap or lose of traction, you can get traction bars or ladder bars...i know some companies that make them for 4wds...but not sure if the would work very well on 2wds

the leaf springs dont do junk for lateral movement, if you hit a divide in the road blocks with one tire before the other (such as on a corner) it jumps and pulls you to the outside of the corner. something i do not like, which is why i have been searching for a panhard bar for some time now.

could someone post a pic of the panhard bar on the 4x?

This site has a couple good upgrades on front steering components.

www.dtprofab.com

I'm looking at getting the steering box stabilizer and the trackbar upgrade after I get a new steering shaft.
