Supercharger boost shutdown
[sm=oopssign.gif], my post was related to the combination of you and him.[sm=smiley18.gif]
I thought it was about your "rant" being on the revlimiter [sm=lol.gif] when you should have been posting about the fmu! Sorry.

All the money we get goes to Al Gore so he can buy his kids hybrids, thus enabling them to tear up the highways at 100mph all jacked up on drugs.

i got a better one. take it off and give it to your moderator so he can dispose of it before it kills your engine... i know best im tech certified [8D]
i was watching a video of a turbo charged 318...it was cutting out like it hit the rev limiter when it was just cruising, and it ended up being that map sensor going out of the pcms peremiters(SP?) anyways they added a resister and a diode, i'd look into that

yeah, i watched that vid, i'm not sure what a zenier diode and a resistor would do for that problem as a 1-bar map sensor will read only that...1 bar, or 1 atmosphere, 14.7 psi i think, which is the highest pressure you'd ever see on an N/A motor (at WOT). you need a 2-bar or more sensor on a turbo or super motor as you're raising the manifold pressure ABOVE atmospheric. i have no idea how the stock computer would deal with that though, although if it's a supercharger kit i'd guess that it'd come with a sensor and computer mods...

the admins look for people they think are worthy of the title, for instance i just had them add one to rmindys
So you think it is the map sensor shutting the engine down because it is seeing too much boost? I will check the TV cable...I have not messed with that. I didn't think it was running that high of RPM, but it may have been.
does the motor literally just shut off.. meaning you have to pull over and start it back up again? or does it loose power?
do you know if your PCM has been programmed or flashed to except the boost?

It doesn't shut off like I have to pull over and start it, it just completely falls on its face. It feels like the fuel is shut off. It doesn't seem like a pop or miss fire, it literally feels like you shut it off.
And no, the PCM has not been touched. Nothing has been touched. I got ahold of the guy that installed the supercharger and he said that he put the FMU, inline pump, and supercharger on and away he went.
