i didn't change anything in my 01 and it's more computerized (obd II) than your 95 (obd I).

good question though...
for the speedo, the needle is in the same place, you'll just have the inner/outer ring of numbers reversed.
HOWEVER, your odometer is currently registering kilometers, and you'll want it to measure miles. so is that gearing (or computer logic) inside the cluster ?? or a gear or sensor in the transmission tail or the pcm. i'd guess its in the cluster. i'd say just get one and try it.
anybody else know ?

i bought my daughter's first car at a local auction. 99 corolla. it was a trade-in from a local dealer. i thought i looked it over real close. turned out it was a canadian car with km.. didn't notice it till the drive home. i didn't want to mess around with it so we just left it that way. actually it was easier to keep up w/oil changes since 5000 km = about 3000 mi.

Mileage is stored by the ECM, not in the cluster... The cluster just displays it...

94 - 97 had analog gauges and odometers...

98 - 01 had analog gauges and digital odometers...

Just make sure you get one form an either an auto or a manual, depending on what you have... Manuals lack the gear indicators...

correct on auto vs manual. but it seemed that the PRNDL was a bolt in module. on my 01 the junk yard had clipped the cable and made it unusable, but i was able to move my old one into the cluster. the manual shift version 'might' have a plug/spacer that bolts in there.

but i disagree on how the mileage is displayed. mileage is stored in both the pcm and cluster, but at least on my 01 its displayed from the cluster. my original mileage was 130k, but after replacing the cluster i had 115k, exactly as photographed in the ebay add ( i assume it was photo'd before it was removed from the donor, or maybe they just apply power to make it display.)
