How can you tell the TPS needs to be replaced?

Default RE: TPS?

Most of the complaints that I have seen revolve around a 1-3k rpm surge when cruising. It feels like the tq converter is locking and unlocking. You can test it with a scanner or multimeter. With a multimeter, you backprobe the connector.Set it to dc volts then put the red probe on the orange wire and the black probe on the black wire. Turn the ignition on, but do notstart the truck. At idle you should read .4-.7 volts. At wot you should read 4.5-5.Move the throttle linkage slowly by hand and observe the readings. It should steadily increase and decreasewith no voltage dips or spikes as you move the linkage back and forth.
