I've been having an issue with running warm but not overheating. I still don't know what the problem is. On the way home Saturday in the middle of the day, I got off of the interstate and was stopped at a stop light. My oil light started to flicker but the gauge was still within the lower white area. I reved it once and it came up and the light never came back on. Now I'm thinking that the heat issue might be related to oil and not coolant. When I got home, I let it sit for a bit and checked the oil level. It was full.
Any ideas? - thank you
if your loosing pressure at lower rpm (lower end of the gague and light flickering as u say) id day the oil pump is on its way out which could be causing some heat issues
How many miles on your rig?
I was told the magnums are hard on oil pumps.
hmm i havent herd that one before...anyone else herd it, now im courieous...half the time something goes in a guys truck and they tell all there buddys, ya i had to change this cuz my truck is hard on them when really its just that truck, just courieous if may pepole have had a problem with there oil pump
I have almost 170,000 miles and have never seen this before. I'm worried about a possible head gasket cause I had similar problems on an S-10 and that's what that was. But I'm not losing oil or coolant.
It hasn't done it since. Maybe some crud? I heard you could run a quart of tranny fluid with your oil for a little while to clean it out.
But, still doesn't resolve the running warm issue either.
I'm at a loss as to what's going on with her.
