My truck came with a volant coldair when I bought it and I have no doubt its a good company but would I be better off goin to a K&N genII FIPK??

IMO, Volant is just as good if not better than the K&N setup. I have run both and I can tell you for sure that the Volant is engineered and constructed better than the K&N.

Sent a pm. Also, just went on thier site and i see nothing for an 01. i see Ram 94-00 and ram 1500 01' then 02-03. What one is right for my truck and what do you have. i would guess the one for the 94-00 was supposed to be 94-01 but not sure.

I have the Volant in my '01 Ram. I believe that it was the same one in the '00 (at work so can't check). Here is a link to a photo I posted over in the Intake.....section https://dodgeforum.com/m_683400/tm.htm. I like that it gets cold air via the ram tube from out front adjacent to the radiator instead of within the engine compartment. Had to relocate the horns (mounted now behind the front bumper) and fuel evap setup in order to get the ram tube in.
