Default oil pressure gauge drops for half a second...

oil pressure gauge drops for half a second and then goes right back to normal. the check guages light pops up for a second and it beeps at me.
it usually happens when im coming to a stop or am stopped at a light. the truck seems to run fine. could the gauge just be screwed up or a loose conection somwhere?!?!

This happened to me a thousand times and I took it in to the shop. They had to change the oil and clean the oil pump and change the pressure sensor. That finally did it.

I just started having something similar and also wondering if it's driving my engine temp up. My plenum gasket was replace two months back and a few weeks back an oil change. My oil level is not dropping but for some reason this is happening. I wonder if Robles is in the right direction if you're not actually losing oil. Someone else replied to my post and said they think the oil pump is starting to go out. Guess I better start looking into how to do that.

I thought my pump was bad and it wasnt i guess just severly clogged up and mucky. SO they cleaned it up real nice, put brand new oil in making sure levels were perfect and a new sensor... It hasent done it since. It would normally only be at a lower RMP/ idle from stopping then i kept checking my oil and it was fine so i just ignored it them after it got more frequently and my woman started complaining about the DING DING! So I finally took her in.

Does the sensor, light and gauge run off of the wire? It was real hot earlier today and at a stop light my light came on. The RPMs were normal and the truck was running fine, the gauge didn't seem any lower than normal after warm up. I lightly gave it some gas and the light went off when it went up about 100 RPM but it wasn't enough to make the oil gauge move. I'm wondering if the heat is in some way related to the light coming on and maybe it's a sensor and not the oil pump?
