So I finaly fixed the A/C, new belt, replaced the Track bar and the Tie rod end at the pittman arm. $900 in parts and about $900 in labour. That includes a new compressor and an allignment. My big discovery is that the dealership can be alot cheaper than the auto parts stores. So I provided the parts to the mechanic: they didn't like it but I saved about $400.

Yep, cheeper than that is doing it yourself, which is what I do anymore. Because If you do it yourself, then you can either save that extra 900 or throw it into parts, or getting even better parts. If you felt so inclined, spend a few bucks on a repair manual, it pays for itself many times over. I usuially just guess and it works out well if thats your thing.

hey 1980blackfiveoh.... click on your link and got this from my antivirus WinFixer ...WinFixer is a Security Risk that may give exaggerated reports of threats on the computer. The program then prompts the user to purchase a registered version of the software in order to remove the reported threats... [:@]

Thanks. That's my baby... and I've done most of the work myself- mechanical to paint. I contract out most of the work on the ram because I hate buying all theoddball tools that I'll never use again and it is too big for my garage. I can dissasemble half of my 'stang with a phillips screw driver, 1/2 and a 9/16th wrench and I have room to work on it in my garage.
